I began my writing and creative pursuits in corporate America: advertising copywriting and account management, public relations and newsletter writing, and bringing products to market in the packaged goods world. Over time, middle management included heavy travel and became incompatible with being a mother and mind, body and spirit healthy, so I decided to start my own company that included wholesale distribution of conscious-living targeted brands and developed a private wholistic and integrative practice.
Returning to an area where my roots date back to the 1700’s in Asheville, North Carolina, I established a successful wholistic and integrative practice that focuses on developmental and growth techniques to help clients find their voices. I use hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, emotional freedom technique, acupressure and other mind over mater techniques. Teaching and writing became a bigger priority, my interest in more formal training grew, and this led me to the Western Carolina University where I completed my Master of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Rhetoric, Composition, and earned a Professional and Technical Writing postgraduate certificate.
My eclectic background has led to a rewarding life of teaching and writing, being a developmental and growth mindset professional in the self-help world and in academia as a college instructor in English studies and Academic Success. I, my husband and life partner since 1982, and three adult children live, work and play in the Asheville, North Carolina area.
